Far Infrared Sauna
What is a far infrared sauna?
For centuries saunas have been a staple in the daily activities of certain cultures. These steam-based saunas can reach upwards of 160-220 degrees! With the infrared technology, your body is being directly heated and only 20% of the heat is heating the air as opposed to an entire room being heated with traditional saunas. This allows for much lower temperatures with infrared saunas, from 130 to 160 degrees.
During your session you are going to SWEAT! The infrared heat raises your body temperature causing an increase in the circulatory (blood), immune, and lymphatic systems. Your body's reaction is to sweat. Most people prefer wearing workout-type clothing in the sauna that they don't mind getting sweaty (shorts, tank top, whatever you are most comfortable in).
The Clearlight Premier Far Infrared Sauna features their True Wave™ carbon/ceramic low-EMF heating technology, surrounding you with infrared heat. It also has ELF shielding with the lowest ELF levels in the industry.
What is EMF and ELF? EMF stands for electromagnetic fields, which are energy waves with frequencies below 300 hertz or cycles per second. ELF stands for extremely low frequency, which are the electrical fields with frequencies form 3-30 hertz.
Why does this matter? Up to one-third of the population may suffer from electrical hypersensitivity from EMF exposure and 3% of the population may have severe reactions to EMFs. Our sauna has virtually zero EMF output and the ELF level is 5Xs below the threshold of concern (competitor's saunas tested 20Xs above this threshold!).
What to expect?
For your first far infrared sauna session, you will have to fill out a quick intake form. After the first visit you will no longer need to fill out any paperwork unless you have a change in medical history that could impact your body's reaction to the sauna, please let us know prior to continuing with sessions. Initial sessions will begin shorter and work up to full 20 minute sessions in the sauna. Sessions are booked as 30 minute time slots, please be mindful of your time before and after your sauna session to not exceed this time slot. Small hand towels to wipe off with after your session are provided but you are more than welcome to bring your own towel to dry off with if these are not sufficient for your level of sweat. The sauna is equipped with an AUX cord for you to listen to your own device during your session or bring a book. Most of all it is important to relax and enjoy your session!
